One String Boogie

   Despite the fact that the Blues has a long history as a music utilized for entertaining others, it is a music that is at its root that is very much a musical form good for entertaining oneself, i.e. it is even better to sing or play the Blues YOURSELF than to listen to someone else do it. One of the earliest components that was blended together to form the music we know as the Blues were the work songs of the Afro-Americans that probably date back to the days of slavery although the early history of the Blues is poorly documented.
